Overview

LIST-OF-SADC-MRH

The SADC MRH initiative exists to improve medical products registration and progressively harmonize regulatory systems, guidelines and processes among SADC Member State NMRAs in order to contribute towards the overall goal to increase the availability of medicines.

Specific objectives include:

  1. Facilitating the progression in functionality and maturity levels for the NMRAs

  2. Facilitating collaborative regulatory activities and information sharing on registration and control of medicines among NMRAs in the region;

  3. Facilitating sharing of existing technical capacities between and among NMRAs

  4. Supporting SADC MRH governance structures on harmonization of medicine regulation

  5. Facilitating capacity building and measures to have competent regulatory staff in the region

  6. Developing and implementing national and regional integrated Information Management Systems (IMS) to facilitate decision making and sharing of knowledge among member states and stakeholders.

Project Coordinator

Sakhile Dube-Mwedzi

She is pharmacist by profession and a regulatory scientist at heart, Sakhile has been involved with the project since 2015.  Her role is to support the Host Agency – the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe, joint SADC/NEPAD Agency Secretariat and SADC Regulators Forum and coordinate overall project implementation, including ZaZiBoNa activities, across all SADC Member States.
