Regulatory Authority

The regulatory unit of Seychelles’ Pharmaceutical Services endorses medicine imports and licensing of pharmaceutical premises, even though the final approvals are granted by the Ministry of Finance and the Licensing authority, respectively. There is no registration of medicines and inspection activities are limited. Seychelles does not have a National Health Policy or a National Medicines Policy document. Policies addressing pharmaceuticals are in place and are detailed in the table below. Pharmaceutical policy implementation is not regularly monitored or assessed. No policies exist relating to clinical laboratories (World Health Organization, 2011).
